Day 257- Eager Beaver

Day 257- Eager Beaver

Yesterday I transposed the numbers, and I indeed am not yet to my 100-day countdown. Dang.

Finishing up day three of the juice fast, I’m pretty loopy, have quite a bit of energy, and at the same time am totally lethargic—slept a lot today. How that makes sense all together, I’m not sure, but that’s how I feel. Just be glad I’m not talking about my stool.

And on that note, yesterday’s juices!

Juice 1:

  • 2 stalks of rhubarb
  • 3/4 lemon with skin
  • 2 cameo apples
  • 2 large kiwis
  • 12.34 oz. strawberries

This mixture produced a delicious 32 ounces of juice, which earned it an official 10 out of 10.

Juice 2:

  • 5 oranges
  • 2 cameo apples
  • 6 oz. kale
  • 3 oz. spinach

This combination made 32 ounces of tastiness. We gave it a 10.

Juice 3:

  • 4 oranges
  • 4 carrots
  • 2 beets with greens
  • 4 stalks of celery
  • 6 oz. swiss chard

Again, we seem to intuit exactly how much needs to go in to produce 32 ounces of juice to share. This combo was very good, but we both thought the celery was a bit overpowering, so we gave it an 8.

Juice 4:

  • 6 oranges
  • 7 carrots

We wanted something simple and easy to drink. Of course, this is one of my absolute favorite fusions, so it would’ve received a 10, but I like a bit more carrot in the ratio, so I gave it a 9. Also, it came up a bit short with only 26 ounces, so a few extra carrots would’ve been perfect.

Although, we made the mistake of having “Juice 4” at 9:30 pm, and ended up so energized we couldn’t sleep. After an hour of laying in bed, we got up and watched a few Arrested Developments in the early am hours. That did the trick, and a thorough night’s rest was had by all—even Cali was out cold.

Tomorrow I’ll share today’s recipes.

Sneak peek: Another poor choice of veggie combinations produced a nearly undrinkable beverage. I wanted to puke. Ew.

On that note …
